Premier League 4 Sport

The Premier League 4 Sport initiative is a national scheme aimed at introducing children to four excellent sports; Table Tennis, Badminton, Volleyball and Judo, and encouraging them to participate in these sports through attending and eventually joining local sports clubs.

Nationally there are 72 community clubs involved in the project. Locally the project is being driven forward by Marske and Middlesbrough’s Volleyball Clubs, Ormesby Table Tennis Club, Thornaby Performance Centre for Badminton and Redcar Judo club, all working in partnership with Middlesbrough Football Club in the Community.

As the project enters its second year, new satellite clubs will be emerging to provide even more opportunities for children to take part in the four sports.  Children will work towards both local and regional representation, with the opportunity to compete against other clubs attached to both Newcastle and Sunderland football clubs.

If you are interested in trying one of these sports, check out your school notice board or talk to your PE teachers to find out if your school is involved in this project. There may be a school close to your own where the scheme is running.

For more information or a full list of satellite clubs contact project co-ordinator alan.cawthorne@mfcic.co.uk  or 01642 451852.
