ALIADIERE VISITS SHOOTING STARS COURSE AT ESTON
Jeremie Aliadiere was the star attraction for youngsters at one of MFC in the Community’s popular Easter holiday coaching courses.
The French striker dropped in on children enjoying a Shooting Stars session at Eston, where he took part in a question-and-answer session and refereed some of their games.
While at the centre, he also met children taking part in the advance course, where gifted and talented youngsters are invited to show off their skills in a more elite standard of coaching provided by Academy coaches from Middlesbrough FC.
Aliadiere was most impressed by the new artificial playing surface at the Herlingshaw base. “I would have loved to have had a chance to play on a surface like this when I was younger,” he said.
Chris Hooker, from the Community Centre, said: “It’s always great to get players interacting with the children. It makes the day special for the children to see their heroes and have an opportunity to show off their skills”.
The Community Project held courses throughout the Tees Valley area over the school holidays, with more than 900 children taking part in football sessions over a number of other satellite venues.
Middlesbrough Primary Care Trust has provided valuable funding to allow these courses to happen. The funding they provide is essential in allowing MFC in the Community to deliver healthy lifestyle messages to so many young people.
MFC in the Community will also be holding holiday courses during the Whitsuntide school holidays from May 27-30, when children will get a chance to spend a day at the highly-rated MFC training headquarters at Hurworth.
