Harrowgate Primary Health Week
Middlesbrough Football Club in the Community recently delivered a health week to 385 children who attend Harrow Gate Primary School in Stockton.
As part of the health week all children in the school took part. Nursery and reception children participated in practical activities whilst years 1 to year 6 all took part in a mixture of theory and practical lessons.
The theory lessons were based around how to live a healthy lifestyle, balanced diets and also food groups. The activities that the children took part created a fun and positive learning style trying to engage all children throughout the week.
The year 5 and year 6 children also took part in a smoking presentation where they were taught the risks and consequences of smoking. This had a positive impact, after which the children then took part in a competition. The competition was to design an anti smoking poster to bring to light the risks and consequences of smoking. After a very tough decision the winner was girl in Year 5 pictured above.
